Taking thirds!

So, I have been 4th, 5th, and 6th. on the last years Ticket to ride (TTR) rankings, but after a great week in Stratton (despite the non-stop rain), I ended up 3rd and finally on the podium.
For me this reflects a great overall year, competing in both slope style and pipe at almost every event! This years TTR World Title was won by slope style queen Jamie Anderson who has won nearly every contest she has entered this year. Halfpipe super-woman Kelly Clark took a well deserved 2nd place after dominating in the pipe and being the first lady ever to land a stylish and grabbed 1080 in a contest for women! I feel very honored to be a part of such a awesome community as the TTR Snowboard World Tour.

“The Burton Global Open Series (BGOS) is one of the most progressive competitive snowboard series in the world. With events scheduled year-round and in four countries, the BGOS boasts the most lucrative cumulative prize purse in the sport – over $800,000 – with equal prize money to men and women. The BGOS is comprised of four of the best snowboard events around the world, attracting the world’s best pro riders and amateurs alike – all throwing down for top honors in the slopestyle and halfpipe competitions. Since the beginning, the Opens have been driven by riders, for riders evolving with snowboarding and riders’ needs over the years.”

After the prize giving the Swedish Indie Rock/New Wave band “The Sounds” performed in front of an ecstatic crowd. Lead singer Maja Ivarsson showed some some impressive stage skills, wearing very thin layers considering the rather cold Stratton breeze. The band played everything from well known songs like “Living in America” to some high tech drum and keyboard snizzl improvs.
Word on the tweets is that ” @kjerstibuaas kind of looks like the lead singer of @TheSounds”
